Unlike some of the other areas of my healing journey, there wasn't a product, supplement, or device that helped me through the emotional side of healing.
For me, this part of the journey looked more like a grieving process as I learned to navigate the losses, fears, uncertainty, and life changes that chronic illness can bring.
Some of the things that helped me more were counseling, mindset work, processing emotions, rebuilding confidence, strengthening my faith, and giving myself permission to grieve the life I thought I would have. While everyone's journey is different, I strongly believe that the emotional and trauma-related aspects of healing are often overlooked. For me, addressing those pieces was just as important as addressing the physical side of healing.
